Testing for airborne pollen concentrations can be an essential early warning and prevention for people with pollen allergies. However, the investigation of airborne pollen is limited by traditional methods of monitoring concentrations. Generally, pollen particles collected by air samplers are identified and counted using an optical microscope. However, as different species of grass pollen particles cannot usually be distinguished by light microscopy, most epidemiological investigations have focused on populations exposed to total grass pollen concentrations and their relationship to allergy-related health outcomes. In addition, airborne pollen concentration testing has important applications during the agricultural pollination season. Pollen abundance levels affect agricultural yields to some extent and can be one of the important bases for agricultural production assessment. Lifeasible offers you environmental DNA (eDNA) based genetic assays for quantifying airborne pollen concentrations. Airborne pollen as airborne plant DNA can be used by eDNA gene detection technology to identify pollen types and quantify the relative abundance of various pollen types. In addition to pollen, eDNA detection technology can also detect the relative abundance of various other substances in the air. Through high-throughput next-generation sequencing and quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR), we ensure the accuracy of airborne pollen characterisation and quantification. 1. Sample Requirements
Air-collected pollen, >0.1g.
* We recommend using a professional pollen collector to collect pollen abundance in the area to be tested or please feel free to contact us for professional guidance on pollen sample collection.
*The experimental samples will not be returned; please back them up yourself. Before sampling, it is necessary to set up the control and experimental groups, and each group is suggested to repeat more than 3 times.
*Quick-frozen preservation with liquid nitrogen can minimize the leakage time of plant samples at room temperature.
*There is no restriction on plant varieties. For varieties with special requirements or rare varieties, please contact our staff for more information.
2. Differentiation and Quantification of Pollen
NGS-based DNA sequencing technology and PCR quantification enable high-throughput and high-resolution characterisation and quantification, all carried out by professionals under strict Qc standards.
