Mineral Elements Content Testing in Pollen
The content of mineral elements in pollen is very high. In addition to containing calcium, phosphorus, chlorine, potassium, sodium, magnesium, sulfur, and silicon, it also contains trace elements such as iron, iodine, copper, lithium, zinc, manganese, molybdenum, cobalt, chromium, nickel, tin, boron, selenium, vanadium, aluminum, barium, graft, titanium, zirconium, beryllium and uranium. Iron, manganese, chromium, nickel, drill, and zinc are particularly high in certain pollen. The mineral elements are mainly absorbed by the root system from the soil and are essential for plant growth. On the one hand, mineral elements are essential as a nutrient for human growth and development. The detection of mineral elements, especially trace elements, is part of the assessment of the nutritional value of pollen. On the other hand, the analysis of the content of mineral elements in pollen in the environment, organisms, and metabolites can be used to infer environmental conditions, soil nutrition, food nutrition, metabolic levels of organisms, health status, etc. Therefore, the testing of mineral elements is also widely used in agronomic research.
What We Offer
Lifeasible offers ion chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (HPIC-MS) based analysis of mineral elements, especially trace elements, to ensure the accuracy of mineral element characterization and quantification. HPIC-MS has the advantage of high sensitivity, low detection limits, and high accuracy, making it ideal for trace element detection. Detecting trace elements in pollen is often more important than the macronutrients, as trace elements often have more specific physiological functions and medicinal values. The workflow of all mineral element testing services is standardised and operated by dedicated specialists, maintaining strict Qc standards. This is a complete guarantee of the accuracy of the analytical results.
Service Flow
1. Sample Requirements
- Fresh flowers, >5g;
- Pollen from fresh flowers or dried pollen from different families, >1g.
*Quick freeze storage with liquid nitrogen minimises leakage time of plant samples at room temperature.
*Experimental samples are non-returnable; please make your own backups. Control and experimental groups need to be set up prior to sampling, and it is recommended to have more than 3 replicates per group.
*No restrictions are placed on plant species. For species with special requirements or rare species, please contact our staff for more information.
*For experiments requiring special testing, please feel free to contact our staff for a bespoke testing service.
2. HPLC-MS
HPLC-MS enables accurate qualitative and quantitative analysis of mineral elements. It is particularly suitable for trace element detection because of its low detection limits.
3. Mineral Elements Content Analysis
The final mineral element analysis report is written by the expert team after professional analysis based on the original data, providing a standard analysis report and customized analysis report for your choice. You can contact our experts at any time for all your analysis needs.
