Gesneriaceae Propagation
Gesneriaceae is a large family with about 150 genera and over 3,700 species worldwide. Plants in this family not only have high ornamental value, but also medicinal value. Gesneriaceae plants mostly have pileated leaves, the whole plant is mostly rosette-shaped, with brightly colored tubular or bell-shaped flowers.
What We Offer
Lifeasible has established a highly efficient and stable system for the in vitro regeneration of Gesneriaceae explants with its well-established tissue culture technology system, especially in the selection and combination of hormone types and concentrations. Explant treatment is an important factor affecting the survival of explants. Most of the plants in the family Gesneriaceae are covered with hairs, and a large number of ectomycorrhizal bacteria are hidden in the hairs and breed in the hairs, so Lifeasible has a professional and perfect disinfection system to reduce the contamination rate of the explants during the culture process.

* The variety of plants is still being updated, so please contact our staff for the latest list.
- The selection of explants: The age, developmental stage, growth environment, and the location of the explants can lead to differences in the physiological status of the explants, which can affect the morphogenesis of tissue culture. Currently, Lifeasible can use flower buds, pedicels, bracts, petioles, stem segments, stem tips, axillary buds, and young leaves of adult plants as material for tissue culture.
- Selection of culture media: The selection of culture media for Gesneriaceae plant tissue culture varies, depending on the material and culture stage of the explants. Lifeasible provides induction medium, differentiation medium, proliferation medium, and rooting medium based on MS medium with appropriate amounts of plant growth regulators such as 6-BA, NAA, IBA, TDZ, KT, and Choline chloride.
