Analysis of Plant lncRNA Regulating Vegetative Growth

Vegetative growth is the growth of leaves, stems, and roots. The better vegetative growth is, the more sugar production in the plant which provides extra growth, fruit set, and tuber formation. The merit of vegetative growth is directly related to the yield and quality of plants. Plant lncRNAs participate in many aspects of vegetative growth, including germination, leaf development, root growth, photomorphogenesis, and phytohormone regulation.

Lifeasible provides analysis services for plant lncRNA in regulating vegetative growth, including leaf development and root growth, to help our customers worldwide in plant science research. Our platform is equipped with cutting-edge facilities and professional experts to support research. Here, we provide various services according to customers' demands.

Leaf Development

  • Leaves initiate from the flanks of the shoot apical meristem and develop into flat structures of variable sizes and forms. This process is regulated by plant hormones, transcriptional regulators, and the mechanical properties of the tissue.
  • We provide analysis services for plant lncRNA to regulate leaf growth. Plant lncRNAs cause leaf serration (defects in cell proliferation at the edge of the leaf primordia) and maintenance of the flattened shape of the leaf.

Root Growth

  • Roots, the foundation of plants, determine the growth, yield, and quality of crops. Root growth occurs from expanding newly developed cells resulting from the division of meristematic cells located just behind the root cap.
  • We provide analysis services for plant lncRNA in root growth. Plant lncRNAs play an essential regulatory role in lateral root formation and development as guidance and scaffolding molecules. It was found that there may be two modes of action, cis-action, which directs the expression of critical genes for acute transport of neighboring growth factors in a co-transcriptional manner, and trans-action, which regulates the expression of distal growth factor-responsive genes by binding to target DNA, thus affecting lateral root formation.
  • We also help customers study plant lncRNA's role in rhizome development. Plant lncRNAs act as guide molecules to direct the localization of NSRs at specific target sites involved in regulation. In plant vegetative growth, lncRNAs regulate the growth of plant roots and root nodules mainly through growth factor transport and signal transduction, and these lncRNAs are involved in regulating gene expression through various mechanisms of action.
