Brassinolide is a kind of natural plant hormone, which widely exists in pollen, seeds, stems and leaves, and other organs of plants. It is a new type of broad-spectrum plant growth regulator. Brassinolide can inhibit the activity of auxin oxidase and increase the content of endogenous auxin in plants. Brassinolide can also regulate the synthesis and metabolism of some proteins related to growth and realize the control of growth. Besides, brassinolide can also regulate the distribution of nutrients in plants, so that the dry weight of the parts below the treatment site is significantly increased, while the dry weight of the upper part is reduced, and the total amount of plant matter remains unchanged. Brassinolide can also affect the metabolism of nucleic acids and delay the senescence of plant cells in vitro.
