Molecular Weight Determination of Botanical Proteins
Molecular weight is the basic physicochemical property parameter of organic compounds. The correct molecular weight often represents the correct structure of the organic compounds and biological macromolecules measured. Molecular weight is also the primary parameter in the identification of peptides and proteins and is one of the important data for the approval of genetically engineered products.
What We Offer
Matrix-assisted laser-resolved ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS) is a soft ionization biological mass spectrometry with low sample consumption, high sensitivity, fast determination speed, easy to achieve high throughput, large-scale identification of proteins, and molecular weight determination of biomolecules, which provides a powerful analytical test for plant protein research. The advantages of MALDI-TOF-MS are its simplicity, intuitiveness, direct determination of macromolecular mixtures, and the absence of fragmentation peaks, which have led to the widespread use of this technique for the determination of plant biomolecules.
The MALDI-TOF-MS instrument mainly consists of two parts, MALDI and TOF, and the accuracy is as high as 0.1%-0.01%, which is much higher than that of SDS electrophoresis and high-performance gel chromatography techniques routinely applied at present, and the molecular weight of plant-derived biomolecules can be determined in the range of 700-600000Da. Lifeasible uses MALDI TOF/TOF mass spectrometry systems to provide researchers worldwide with molecular weight determination services for plant-derived biomolecules, to analyze the molecular weight of target proteins or peptides, to detect protein dimers, and to assess sample purity.
Service Flow
Sample Requirement
- Sample volume >25 ug
- Sample purity >90 %
*Avoid surfactants such as SDS, Triton-X, etc. as much as possible during sample preparation.
*The experimental samples will not be returned, please back them up by yourself. Before sampling, it is necessary to set up the control group and the experimental group, and each group is suggested to repeat more than 3 times.
*Quick-frozen preservation with liquid nitrogen can minimize the leakage time of samples at room temperature.
*There is no restriction on plant varieties. For varieties with special requirements or rare varieties, please contact our staff for more information.
