Seed Caring Services
The ultimate purpose of seed existence is germination and reproduction of offspring. Seeds are dormant when they are not sown but still perform weak life activities. Only seeds with a high level of vitality will successfully survive after sowing. However, seeds in storage may suffer from a series of problems that can lead to loss of seed activity or even affect subsequent yields.
- Seed Respiration
During storage, seeds will continue to emit water and heat to the outside world due to respiration. As seed respiration increases, more water and heat accumulate inside the seed, and a large number of microorganisms grow and multiply in it, making it susceptible to qualitative changes.
- Seed Frostbite
When the seeds are stored in a relatively low-temperature environment, the presence of a certain amount of water in the seeds can easily lead to frost damage. If the water contained in the seeds freezes, it will directly damage the embryonic tissue of the seeds, resulting in the seeds no longer having the ability to germinate.
- Insect Damage
Seeds can be bitten by pests carried by the seeds themselves or by pests present in the storage environment. Once the seeds are bitten by pests, the germination rate of the seeds will be greatly affected.
Therefore, seed care is critical in agricultural production to ensure the quality and plantability of seeds in storage.
What We Offer
Lifeasible is committed to improving yields and reducing costs through professional seed care services. Our experts insist on innovative solutions for the best seed care results. Our seed improvement services include the following aspects.
Selection - seeds come in a variety of shapes in their original form. All original seed lots are cleaned and processed using a variety of mechanical procedures to obtain high-purity and homogeneous seeds.
Coating - Some plant species produce seeds with a very flat or irregular shape, making single sowing complicated. Coating seeds with a more rounded shape and the smoother surface can help solve this problem. Thicker coatings are often used to improve sewability.
Pelleting - Some crop varieties have extremely small seeds that cannot be sown alone. For this reason, we make the seeds into pellets. A fixed number of seeds are coated to form pellets approximately 5 - 20 times the size of the actual seeds they contain.
Our seed improvement services are available for the following needs.
- Extend seed storage time while ensuring seed vigor.
- Seed pest and disease control treatment during dormancy and sowing.
- Rapid seed dormancy breaking during the sowing period and general improvement of seed vigor.
After receiving your order related to seed care, our specialists will carry out your project as soon as possible. At the end of the project, we will provide a detailed seed care report, including the care steps and verification of the post-seed care condition. As the care services are continuously updated, please feel free to contact our staff for more up-to-date and relevant information.
