Orchid Propagation
Orchidaceae is a large family of angiosperms and is the largest family of higher plants except for Asteraceae. With the destruction of large areas of forests in tropical and subtropical regions, the habitats in which orchids live are shrinking. This global habitat degradation and loss, combined with human destruction, is the main reason why a large number of orchids have become rare, endangered, and even extinct. Therefore, adopting the means of tissue culture and exploring orchid cultivation techniques on a large scale to achieve industrialization and meet people's demand for orchids is the most effective way to conserve orchid resources.
What We Offer
The traditional propagation method of orchids is divisional propagation, which has a low reproduction coefficient and slow speed, and it is difficult to achieve rapid and efficient propagation due to the limitation of geographical environment and season, and this requirement can be met by technical means and methods of tissue culture. Lifeasible has established a propagation system for 66 genera of orchids by using tissue culture technology to propagate orchids, effectively overcoming the problems of distant hybrid incompatibility, poor development of hybrid embryos, removal of viruses, germplasm conservation, and exchange.
