Only a few genera of Magnoliaceae have seed germination rates of about 80%, while all other genera have low germination rates. In addition, dioecious plants, different flowering periods for males and females, and early stamen drop in Magnoliaceae largely contribute to the low natural fruiting rate.   • Explants: Magnoliaceae are woody plants and tissue culture is difficult, so the selection of suitable explants is important for the success of the tissue culture of Magnoliaceae.
