Liliaceae Propagation

The properties of the lily family can be divided into 280 genera and nearly 3,800 species, which are distributed all over the world, especially in temperate as well as subtropical regions where they grow more. Lilies have high value, both as famous flowers with high ornamental value and medicinal value, some species can be directly consumed, and some species can be used as the main raw material for cosmetics.

Liliaceae Propagation

What We Offer

The lily family is usually cultivated and propagated by dividing plants, dividing balls, and taking cuttings, but after analysis, it was found that this cultivation method can reduce the value of lilies and even produce toxicity. Therefore, Lifeasible can solve these problems and guarantee the quality of the species by using plant tissue technology for cultivation.

  • Selection of explants: Scales, seeds, bead buds, stem segments, petals, filaments, leaves, anthers, ovaries, and pedicels, etc. It depends mainly on the purpose of the culture. When the purpose of your culture is to obtain haploids or pure diploids, we recommend using anthers, pollen, or ovaries as explants. When the purpose is rapid multiplication and detoxification, we recommend scales and stem tips as explants.
  • Disinfection of explants: The main disinfection and sterilization agents we commonly use are calcium hypochlorite, sodium hypochlorite, alcohol, mercury chloride, hydrogen peroxide, antimicrobial agents, etc. The selection of the sterilizing agents and the determination of sterilization time varies somewhat depending on the plant, the type of explants, the period of taking, etc.
  • Selection of basic medium: The commonly used basic mediums are MS, N6, SH, B5, White, etc.
  • Selection of culture method: There are three methods of plant tissue culture, such as solid culture, semi-solid culture, and liquid culture.
  • Control of culture conditions: We have strict control standards for light, temperature, pH value of culture medium, air circulation level of culture environment, hormone types, concentrations, and their ratios.
