Spices Testing
Spices can be used to increase the shelf life of food, give it a unique flavor, and have some medicinal value. The world's demand for spices is huge, and testing spices based on advanced technology is essential to stabilize the spice market, protect consumer rights and improve the economic benefits of spices.
Lifeasible is committed to the field of botanical research. We continue to provide perfect solutions for spice testing by developing and optimizing our technical services. We play an essential role in guaranteeing the stable and healthy development of the spice market and ensuring the quality of spice products.
We offer various solutions for spice testing
- Assessment of the microbiological safety of spices
- Detection of chemical contaminants in spices
- Identification of spices
- DNA fingerprinting and barcoding in spices
- Component analyses of spices
Our platform
- Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC)
We offer thin layer chromatography (TLC) analysis with a suitable solvent as the mobile phase and a support coated on a support plate as the stationary phase. The principle of separation is adsorption. One or more samples are coated on a plate with a thin layer. The plate is partially immersed in an unfolding agent. The solvent moves along the adsorbent, resulting in the separation of components. Thin-layer chromatography can be used to analyze any type of sample and is widely used in the chemical quality characterization of spices.
- Fingerprinting
Our fingerprint analysis technique is used in spice quality identification. It is used to study the chemical composition of spices and to reflect the whole picture of spices. It also detects the whole intrinsic quality of spices to achieve a comprehensive evaluation and overall control of the intrinsic quality of spices. This technique has the advantages of high separation efficiency, large peak capacity, and rich sample information in spice quality identification.
We use GC/MS and LC/MS to detect residues in spices, such as pesticide residues, heavy metal contamination, and whether the spices are adulterated. GC/MS and LC/MS can be used effectively in spice testing to ensure food safety, combat food adulteration, and maintain the stability of the spice market.
- Molecular biology testing
We offer polymerase chain reaction technology (PCR technology) and gene chip technology that can be effectively used to detect microorganisms for spice detection. This technology has the technical characteristics of high specificity and fast detection of pathogenic microorganisms in spices.
