Single-cell Solutions for Plant Abiotic Stress Response

Because plants are immobile, they must respond to and withstand a variety of environmental (abiotic) and biotic stresses in the field. Abiotic stresses are important environmental influences during plant growth and development, altering gene expression patterns in a cell-type specific manner. However, for a given stress type, different stresses can induce transcriptional regulation of roughly the same set of genes. Single-cell transcriptomic approaches can be used to study specific responses of plant developmental stages or cell types to the environment, and in particular, single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) makes it possible to perform gene mapping studies under different environmental conditions. Exploring the plant transcriptome provides a more thorough understanding of how plants regulate their responses to various abiotic stresses.

What We Offer

We provide a robust meta-analysis of scRNA-Seq datasets of plant transcriptomes in response to various abiotic stresses. These stresses include drought, salinity, high temperature, and low temperature. Given the need to tolerate multiple environmental stresses, our experts can further explore core stress-responsive gene networks for plant improvement.

Lifeasible provides professional single-cell solutions for plant abiotic stress response to help customers explore changes in the composition of cell types in plant tissues under different treatment conditions, thus resolving abiotic stress response mechanisms. Our solutions include but are not limited to:

  • By using scRNA-seq, we can identify different major plant cell types that respond to abiotic stress.
  • We provide high-resolution single-cell transcript expression profiles of plants to analyze plant responses to abiotic stresses.
  • We can analyze the response of different cell clusters to different stress treatments with scRNA-seq data to help our clients analyze cellular activities critical for plant growth and adaptation to adversity while revealing the balance between plant growth and resilience.
  • We can combine scRNA-seq with spatial transcriptome and mass spectrometry imaging to help our clients systematically study the spatial dynamics of transcriptome and metabolomics in different tissues and cell types during plant response to stress.

Based on the scRNA-seq analysis, single-cell epigenetic approaches, and spatially informative methods of in situ reverse transcription, Lifeasible can help characterize the spatiotemporal transcriptome profiles of plants to help you breed better crops resistant to environmental stresses.
