Plant Lipidomics

Lipids are a class of bio-organic molecules that are insoluble in water and readily soluble in non-polar solvents. Lipid molecules in cells can be broadly classified into three major groups: nonpolar lipids (including cholesterol, cholesteryl esters, and triglycerides), polar lipids (including phospholipids, sphingolipids, and glycolipids), and lipid metabolites (substances produced during lipid synthesis or hydrolysis, many of which are second messengers have physiologically active).

In addition to being the backbone of cell membranes and a form of energy storage, lipids are also involved in many important cellular functions. In plants, lipids are involved in photosynthesis, stomatal movement, signal transduction, cellular secretion, vesicle transport, and cytoskeletal reorganization. Plant biofilms contain glycerol glycolipids, which are not generally found in animal biofilms, and plants are also more abundant in phosphatidylglycerol (PG). Some growth and developmental processes in plants also require lipid involvement, such as seed germination, organ differentiation, leaf senescence, and pollination. Moreover, the composition of membrane lipid molecules is subject to changes in hormone levels, developmental changes, and endogenous and exogenous stimuli such as environmental stresses and pest attacks.

What We Offer

Lifeasible has established a well-developed platform for plant lipidomics analysis. The technical tools include thin-layer chromatography (TLC), gas chromatography-mass spectrometer (GC- MS), electrospray ionization- mass spectrometry (ESI -MS), matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS), etc. We aim to develop a holistic research strategy for plant lipids and provide high-quality, high-standard plant lipidomics analysis services to our global customers.

Service Flow

Plant Lipidomics service flow - Lifeasible

What We Offer

Lifeasible continues to improve the plant analysis service platform, not only to establish a high-quality plant lipidome analysis service platform but also to propose a series of total plant lipid solutions, this service has a wide range of applications and can meet your various needs. This service platform can reveal the functions and effects of lipid components during the occurrence and development of plant-related resistance by analyzing the changes of lipid components in different metabolic pathways, and explore the biological functions of plant lipid components by comparing the differences of lipid components in biological samples with different treatments.
