Peptide MS Identification

Peptides are molecules of compounds composed of a series of amino acids. They are structurally like proteins, but the size of peptides is much smaller than that of proteins, and peptides have important roles in plant metabolism and other physiological processes. Most of the endogenous polypeptides are generated from precursor proteins by the cleavage of various processing enzymes. Peptidomics has emerged in recent years, referring to the study of all expressed peptides under specific physiological conditions in plants.

What We Offer

The purpose of peptide identification is to achieve the detection of peptide sequence information and thus to obtain sequence or post-translational modification information of peptides. Tandem mass spectrometry combined with bioinformatics analysis is the dominant technique for peptide sequencing in plant proteomics experiments. Most experimental methods compare the spectral data measured in experiments with the data inferred from theoretical sequences in protein databases. Lifeasible utilizes MALDI-TOF MS, NanoLC-ESI-Q-TOF MS/MS, AutoflexII MALDI-TOF/TOF, and other technology platforms to provide mass spectrometry identification of plant-derived peptide samples for researchers worldwide.

Sample Requirement

  • Gel or gel strips

*For plant protein samples identified by mass spectrometry, gloves, and head coverings should be worn during sample preparation to avoid contamination of the sample by your own keratin.

*If you need to cut gel, be sure to wear gloves, keep the glue cutting blade clean, and cut the glue strip as precisely as possible, as additional glue strips beyond the strip may create background interference.

*Other important notes can be obtained by contacting our staff directly.

We Do Better

Lifeasible has established a mature botanical research platform that has a variety of effective strategies for peptide identification and quantitative detection in complex samples, which can effectively identify the proteomics of target peptides and proteins, and obtain high throughput, reproducible and accurate identification results even at low target concentrations.

The services provided by Lifeasible cover all aspects of plant research, please contact us to find out how we can help you achieve the next research breakthrough.
