Microbial assays measure the number of microorganisms from the weight, volume, density, or concentration of their samples. There are three problems with traditional microbiological testing methods. One is the sample culture leads to long detection time, traditional biological testing time as short as a few hours, long as a few days are possible. The second is the limited number of species identified and the general accuracy. The positive rate of bacterial culture as already mentioned above is very low, and the number of bacteria that can be cultured is only a small percentage of pathogenic microorganisms. The third is that the process is more complex and cannot be separated from manual intervention, especially since the sample processing and culture stages are difficult to replace with automated instruments.
