Plant Targeted Proteomics

Plant targeted proteomics is a science developed from plant proteomics that specializes in the quantitative study of specific target plant proteins. Compared to non-targeted proteomics, targeted proteomics has targeted ion selection for mass spectrometry data acquisition and therefore can be used for the analysis of large numbers of samples with better accuracy, sensitivity, and reproducibility. Plant targeted proteomics can be applied to system-level studies of post-translational modifications, protein conformation, protein-protein interactions, kinetics, and metabolic and signaling pathways.

What We Offer

The main quantitative techniques for targeted proteomics include Multiple Reaction Monitoring (MRM) and Parallel Reaction Monitoring (PRM). MRM, also known as Selected Reaction Monitoring (SRM), uses QQQ-MS MRM, also known as Selected Reaction Monitoring (SRM), uses QQQ-MS to acquire signals that match the rules of the target ion, allowing for relative or absolute quantification of the target protein.

PRM is derived from MRM and has highly selective, high resolution, and high accuracy properties, and will measure all fragment ions after cleavage of selected parent ions, providing better detection sensitivity and interference resistance.

Absolute Quantitative Analysis (AQuA)

AQuA is a targeted quantitative proteomics technique that is widely used in quantitative proteomics studies in plants. The absolute quantification strategy can be used for the absolute quantification of proteins and their modification states. Synthetic peptides labeled with stable isotopes are used as internal standards, which can mimic natural peptides formed by protein hydrolysis or can be prepared using covalent modifications (e.g., phosphorylation, methylation, acetylation, etc.). Though using SRM technology in tandem mass spectrometry, AQuA internal standard peptides are used to accurately quantify the absolute levels of proteins and post-translational modified proteins after protein hydrolysis.

We Do Better

Lifeasible launched the MRM/SRM plant targeted quantitative proteome analysis service, you only need to provide us with the target protein information you need to study, and we provide a one-stop MRM/SRM quantitative protein analysis service. It includes the establishment and optimization of the MRM method, selection of specific peptides, isotope-labeled peptides, mass spectrometry analysis, original data analysis, bioinformatics analysis. Lifeasible also provides plant targeted proteomic analysis technology, through PRM targeted quantitative analysis of a group of known plant proteins of interest.

The services provided by Lifeasible cover all aspects of plant research, please contact us to find out how we can help you achieve the next research breakthrough.
