Plant Ionomics

The ionome refers to the sum of ions in an organism including all mineral and trace elements, representing the inorganic composition from the cellular level to the whole organic system, and is also known as the fingerprint of phytochemical elements. Plant ionomics studies the composition, distribution, and accumulation of elements in plants and the variation of these elements with plant physiological status, biotic and abiotic stimuli, developmental stages, habitat and genetics, and their mechanisms. Ionomics is crucial in the localization of quantitative genetic traits, the discrimination of physiological conditions, and the identification of potential genes regulating element uptake, transport, and storage in plants.

What We Offer

Lifeasible has a complete set of research ideas, methods, and techniques to study the plant ionome. We use high-throughput, high-precision testing techniques and methods for ionome samples during bioanalysis, including inductively coupled plasma (ICP), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), neutron activation analysis (NAA), ion beam analysis (IBA), atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), and synchrotron radiation X-ray fluorescence (SRXRF), etc.

Plant lonomics

Since the raw ionomics data are characterized by high noise, high dimensionality, high variability, correlation, and redundancy, Lifeasible employs rational data processing and statistical analysis to reveal the complex relationships and find the patterns inherent in the data. First, we use normalization, standardization, scaling, and data transformation methods to initially process the data and then perform redundancy and noise reduction by clr, alr, and ilr methods. After data transformation, the data are further parsed using multivariate analysis toolkits and algorithms according to customer requirements.

We Do Better

Lifeasible' comprehensive and professional ionomics analysis services have been applied in genetic and gene function analysis, ion metabolism gene regulatory networks, and plant physiological conditions, and other fields such as plant species phylogeny and plant-forward and reverse genetics studies. With the development and application of high-throughput elemental analysis technology, Lifeasible has been upgrading the overall analysis platform of ionomics to cope with the information-rich multidimensional data generated by plant ionome analysis, integrating data from ionomics and other histologies to build a systems biology information base to meet the needs of researchers for quantitative study of plant life processes and systematic study of complex biological networks.
