Description
Nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) is an intermediate in the salvage synthesis pathway of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) in mammals. NMN is converted into NAD+ in the human body to exert its physiological functions, such as activating NAD+ substrates. The dependent enzyme Sirt1 (histone deacetylase, also known as sirtuin) regulates cell survival and death, maintains redox status, etc.
