Description
The Perls Prussian Blue Reaction (PBR) is an old and sensitive method of staining for the display of iron. The principle of staining lies in the separation of trivalent iron ions from proteins by dilute hydrochloric acid by a solution of potassium ferricyanide, and the reaction of trivalent iron with potassium ferricyanide to produce an insoluble blue compound known as ferricyanide of trivalent iron.
